In the summer of 2011 we took a trip back to Pittsburgh to visit some friends, and tour around Pennsylvania. While staying with our friends – the Virany’s – we found out they lived next to a Rails-to-Trails that is a part of the Great Allegheny Passage. I was committed to come back and ride the trail … and so a year later, we did!
We left for Pittsburgh on June 21st, 2012 and started our ride on Saturday, June 23rd. The map below was updating in near-real-time with our location on our ride, and you can also view each day’s ride on the individual days listed under The Maps menu above.
This site is to document our journey … and the experience. We’ll be posting updates, photos, and eventually videos of the entire trip. The maps were all updated in near-real-time via my SPOT Satellite Messenger.
