Today’s ride will continue up the Youghiogheny River through a variety of cool Pennsylvania towns. We’ll end up staying near the intersection of I-70 and Route 51 near Belle Vernon, PA at the Comfort Inn Belle Vernon.

The GAP Trail
The Great Allegheny Passage (GAP) rail-trail offers 141 miles of hiking and biking between Cumberland, MD, and Homestead, PA, near Pittsburgh. In Cumberland, the GAP joins the C&O Canal Towpath, creating a continuous trail experience, 325 miles long, to Washington, DC.
The Montour Trail is a multi-use non-motorized recreational rail-trail near Pittsburgh, PA that will ultimately extend 47 miles from Coraopolis to Clairton. Currently, multiple sections of the trail totaling over 40 miles are completed. New sections are being added each year. The Montour Trail connects to the Great Allegheny Passage via the Clairton Connector in McKeesport.
